The African Philanthropy Forum, convened over 200 philanthropists, social investors, heads of foundations and industry experts from 22 countries to its fifth annual conference which kicked off with a pre-conference reception at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory followed by a 2 day programme, opened with a mesmerizing tribute to Madiba by poet Napo Masheane.

Over 60 speakers discussed topics around the theme “Potential and Reality: Bridging the Gap”, including Graça Machel; H.E Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, former President of Mauritius; Dr. Judy Dlamini, Executive Chairman of Mbekani Group; Gbenga Oyebode, Board Member and Founder of the APF; Serge Ibaka, NBA Star, South African Springboks captain Siya Kholisi.
