Scaled on the heights of a first in the South African fashion industry, the Elite’s Model Look, a renowned International forum to discover new talent in search of supermodels of the future was launched. 2009 saw the Elite Model Management of Paris consider South Africa as a source to unearth fresh new faces.
Considered to be the world most prestigious and influential modelling contest with over 350,000 contestants in more than 55 countries, the purpose was to help build careers and teach models the tricks and trade of the industry.
A series of regional castings were held across various venues in the country and finalists were narrowed down to twenty. Following the successful search, the semi-finalists were treated to an exciting 24 hour luxury train journey from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
On arrival, the young up and coming models entered the model boot camp where they would complete their preparation for the final national event. Determined to learn the discipline, work ethic and expertise; this is where the discovery of their talent and style began.
Celebrities, fashion icons and modelling industry experts as well as VIP guests were spectators at the prestigious Finale where the official top 20 Elite Model Look South Africa models walked the ramp and Shaldon Kopman, Fashion Producer, staged a high profile production.
The Multitalented radio and tv personality Bridget Masinga was the MC. In her element, she kept the audience well informed and entertained. Adding further entertainment to the event was a performance by South African neo-soul musician, Wanda Baloyi.

The winner of the Elite Management Look was awarded an all-expenses paid trip to the 26th Elite Model Look World Final, which will kick off on 18 October 2009 in the Beauty Crowne Theatre of Sanya, located on the exotic tropical island of Hainan, China.
